OVERVIEW

The Event will consist of a maximum of 64 participants paying an entree fee of $10,000. The Event is a 2-day competition extending from May 17th to May 18th if needed.

SCHEDULING

Every phase of participant involvement will be scheduled. That includes registration, warm up times, and shooting times. Participant schedules will be sent via email to each participant no later than May 1, 2008. Each participant is responsible for knowing his or her scheduled registration, warm-up, and shooting times. Any participant who is late for (or misses) his or her scheduled shooting time will automatically forfeit that round and be given a score of zero.

SHOOTING RULES & SCORING

Each shooting round will last 1 minute with a maximum of 25 balls to be shot. (5) racks each with (5) basketballs will be placed around the perimeter of the high school/collegiate 3-point line (19 feet, 9 inches). The racks will be placed as follows: right baseline, right-key, top of the key, left-key, and left baseline. Each made basket will count as 1 point. The last ball in each rack is the "money" ball (different color). Each successful shot with a money ball is worth 2 points. The maximum amount of points for each 25 shot round is 30 points.

SHOOTING PROTOCOL

When the horn sounds, participants will shoot as many balls as possible during the 1 minute. All participants will be required to start shooting at the right baseline. The "money" ball must be the last ball shot in each rack. Any participant shooting the money ball before the end of the rack will receive zero points for that ball regardless if whether or not it was made. When the horn sounds a second time, the round is finished. Any balls still on a rack or in the hands of the participant will not count. The ball must clearly be out of the participant’s hands before the buzzer sounds to count. A certified referee will make the determination and his/her ruling is final.

Participants must be behind the 3-point line for any made baskets to count. Certified referees will be responsible for enforcing this rule. If a participant’s foot/toe is on or over the line, the basket will not count. At the end of the round, the referee will communicate any shots that are void as a result of being on or over the line.

DISPUTES/APPEALS REGARDING SCORING

Any disputes or appeals regarding a participant’s score must be made by the participant directly to the referee immediately following a participant’s shooting round. Once a score has been officially logged, no appeals will be permitted. Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. No appeal of a referee ruling may be disputed or appealed (i.e., foot over the line, shot clock violation). Participants must leave the floor as instructed by the referee or officials. Failure to do so may result in being penalized 2 points, or in the forfeiture of the entire shooting round and a score of zero being applied.

 HEAD-TO-HEAD COMPETITION

After a sedding qualifier, participants will be placed in a bracket and seeded according to their qualifying score. All subsequent shooting rounds will be head-to-head match-ups. Each head to head match-up will consist of one round of 25 shots to determine who advances. The participant with the higher score advances in the tournament. This process will repeat itself throughout the entire bracket until prize winners are determined. In the event of a tie, a sudden death round of head to head 25 shots will be performed by both participants to determine who advances. This process will repeat itself until a winner is determined.

SPONSORS

We're designing our site to bring together those players looking for financing help and investors looking to sponsor players. Our site will allow potential players to post their resume and credentials for potential sponsors or investors to see. We will do our part in trying to help individuals find the financing they seek to compete in the event if they cannot fund themselves. Any and all financing arrangements and deals will be between the player and investor. The 3-point championships will not be involved in anyway for such arrangements.

I want you!
